In lieu of a post-college backpacking trip, three Americans attempt to drive a rusty Piaggio Porter from the United Kingdom to Mongolia. Armed with a thoroughly inadequate knowledge of engines, last-minute paperwork and zero applicable foreign languages, the trio careens through twenty-two countries in search of adventure. Over the course of two months, team Porter & Co. chats up Bosnian war survivors, bribe their way onto a trans-Caspian ferry and flee Kazakhstan to escape jail time. Racing against the clock of expiring visas, they speed through cities as diverse as Odessa, Istanbul and Novosibirsk. It's a snapshot of the world in the summer of 2012, seen from the window of a decrepit old van.
